DIY Horror Stories, Blunders and Follies...

I kinda got this idea from a couple of other members that were sharing recent DIY blunders. I thought what a great topic to share with the members. I remember reading about drilling through the gas tank and replacing break pads by accidentally swapping the fronts on the rears and vice versa.

So, what have you done Cayman Club members. Share your follies and lets have a laugh.

After (apparently) wiring up my RemoteKey properly, I gleefully disregarded the point mentioned in the instructions directing me to *NOT* turn the ignition on unless I saw a blinking green LED.

Absolutely convinced that I was smarter than they, I turned the ignition on & was presented with a "PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILURE" message & directed to get to the workshop, along with a persistent airbag idiot light on the dash.

Looking around, I (too late) realized that while everything was indeed wired correctly, I had neglected to plug the RemoteKey module back into the factory harness.

Gaffer's tape covers a multitude of sins...
