Wink Very early impressions on FabSpeed

OK, exhaust is not even on the car yet but I opened the boxes.

FabSpeed Cayman exhaust - just the rear piece comes in two packages, which contain three boxes. Very well packaged.

First box contains the downpipes and all the clamps, nuts and bolts. Installation instructions are on FabSpeed web page - simple bullets:

987 MAXFLO High Performance Exhaust with Dual 3.5” Tips
You should receive a left and right side muffler, left and right side inlet pipes, 2 left and right mounting brackets, 2 T bolt band straps, 2 x 3.5” T304SS tips with beveled edges, 2 x 2.0” exhaust clamps, 2 x V band clamps market 996/GT3 and 2 x 2.25” clamps.
Remove rear wheels and plastic covers that shroud header collectors. You should 1st remove the factory exhaust tip. With a 13mm socket remove rear muffler system from car in 1 piece. Remove side brackets that held on 6” cats that connected to the muffler. Leave wishbone cross-bow on back of 987 transmission as you can remove the muffler system as 1 complete assembly.
Install adapter brackets to wishbone. These support and hold the mufflers up on car with the T bolt straps. Tighten everything but allow room for mufflers to move. Next take left and right inlet pipes and install over CV axles and start new 13mm nuts with anti seize grease and then using V band clamps connect to inlet on muffler.
Make sure that muffler is center on car and tips line up straight out the back and then tighten all connections slowly. Proceed to tighten until everything line up great and you are done. YOU now have the world’s most POWERFUL T 304 stainless steel sports exhaust. Enjoy.

Second box contains two boxes with bubble wrapped muffler in each. Again, well protected for shipping.

Initiall impressions are VERY good. I think that Porsche owners have higher standards, and FabSpeed seems to deliver. Please keep in mind that each of these 4 boxes sells for about $20... there is easilly $50 worth of packaging that comes with each exhaust.

Of course the exhaust is well polished, I know that will not last, but feels good when first opening the boxes.

I find Fabspeed's quality to be as good as it gets......metalwork is polished to a very fine degree and it happens to sound and perform flawlessly!!!

I put the pic's up on the articles section on cosmetic mods. And yes I know it's a Porche but it will be the only one like it when I'm through with it. And on track day's love it when I rip somebody up it will be hard to miss even if it is me who gets ripped. And the really cool thing is they come off. The wheels are being powder coated as well. I never got off on the silver. I am however a die hard Fuch fan my wifes limited boxster has the modern version of them.
