GT3 seats for daily driver?

how many members use the GT3 seats for daily driver and everyday?

I just installed mine yesterday, today when I drove to work. It feels really weird, the sitting position is different then my Recaro SPG, which have a more angle to the back.

With the GT3 it feels like I am at 70 degree angle. I was planning on using the GT3 seats for everyday driving, but after one drive to work. I am not too sure I like it that much.

I use my GT3 seat equipped car as a daily driver without much issue. Yes, they make it a bit more difficult to enter and exit, but not too much so. That said, unless the car is going to tracked regularly I would not install these seats. They are a great street/track hybrid, but of little value on a street only car.

The driving position is certainly more upright than most people are use to, but this angle places the driver in near perfect position for better car control (good bend in the elbows). The position is a bit awkward at first, but you do get used to and come to appreciate the position and security of the seat.

One issue that folks do not much mention is that with minimal padding and no spring in the seat the jolts, etc from the road can wear on a sensitive back if driven for long stretches.

Cheers,

Same here; with the proper rake, they are very comfortable. I've sat in them for a 1000 mile road trip several times.

Tks for the info, I'll look into the Brey Krause brackets. I'll try them out for another week to see how I like them. Nice to hear I am not the only one that feels the seats position the body at a weird angle. Got a track day on Sunday, so after that, the factory is going back in. Getting in and out is a bit of pain.

There really is no graceful way to get in or out!

When getting out, I put my left hand on the door sill and hoist my butt out of the seat. Getting in, I slide over the outside edge of the seat pivoting into the car at the same time - not the best for long term bolster wear. Once in, with velcro attached lumbar pad adjusted, I find the GT3 seats to be very comfortable. I've done 11 hour drives....

It's a piece of cake compared to a Lotus Elise!

Maybe I'd better qualify that by saying "all things relative" Maybe its the numb butt syndrome.
