REAR WING: Can U ID it?

I saw this rear wing on a CS at a Porsche shop. No one there knew anything about the rear spoiler. Can someone please ID it for me?

I'm sorry, I'm of no help here.
But just wanted to say, that wing does look very nice.

There is a fixed wing for the Cayman that you can purchase from Porsche (TECHEQUIPMENT). Check the Porsche Cayman website under Tech Equipment. Sorry, but I don't have time at the moment. Good luck.

I have the "tequipment" wing - that is not it.
That one looks nice though - would love to know what it is. Looks like the old hydraulic wing is still in place though... does it still go up at speed?

OK- I lied. Just took a look at the Porsche website and there is an item called "aerokit" which includes front and rear spoilers (a fixed rear spoiler). The picture makes it hard to tell if this is the same rear spoiler you show. I suspect it is since you saw it at a Porsche dealer.

Does the fact it's a eBay spoiler make it a ricer wing? Just curious...

I can almost guarantee it was not tested in a wind tunnel and thus probably adds no functional value... so by definition... yes

Hey Suneet or anyone else, what's up with the rear bumper on that boxster? Does anyone know? Is it a euro bumper or some company's rear bumper, or does it just have the bumperettes removed? If it has the bumperettes removed then it must have flat caps inserted to cover up the holes that would be there, right?

And besides the wing, those taillights make it look pretty darn ricer.

advantyper,.. yep. I think you found it exactly. Thanx mucho.

The "idea" that because this wing has not been "wind tunnel tested",.. thus making it ineffective, is one of the most laughable comments I have ever heard at CC. Wind tunnel testing does NOTHING to make a wing better or worse. It just adds a small amount of more data to the pool of information as to its relative effectiveness.

Since a sports car's cornering dynamics can not be duplicated in an actual wind tunnel, I would rate actual track testing and handling compassions as much more relevant to a rear wing's overall effectiveness. Anyone with some basic ideas of sports cars, and down force aerodynamics, can easily see that this wing has all of the necessary characteristics to provide some small but significant down force stability to a sports car, especially while the car is cornering at hi speeds. It is in no way a large or radical wing by Porsche standards. And it has the most balanced and best proportioned appearance of any wing that I have ever seen on a Cayman S. The construction quality seemed excellent. And the wing's curves and subtle brake light bar follow the Cayman's design lines perfectly.

Personally I use a slightly larger wing on my CS for track use,.. and all people have different opinions, but I must say, this is the best looking rear wing I have ever seen for a Cayman S and it looks completely OEM.

Game on.

Wind tunnel testing measures downforce - which is what you are looking for on your car if you want to take corners faster. If the wing
