Removing OEM dead pedal

Does anyone know how to remove the OEM dead pedal? I have the plastic dead pedal that matches the stock pedals and I don't want to risk breaking any mounting points. I did not see this covered in any of the forums, but I may have missed it if it was.

Thanks,
Sugeray

I took mine off a couple weeks ago to clean it and mount the Cayman Club badge. All you have to do is get your fingers underneath near the top and pull.

Actually, the pedal has plastic tabs that lock into place. While pushing it down to compress the carpet underneath, slide it up and the tabs will be released without damage. It'll take some effort to slide it up. Prying the pedal off can break the tabs. Installing is the reverse.

Pulling it out from the top shouldn't harm it. I had no problems doing it that way. Maybe mine wasn't in all the way to begin with. The largest tab is at the bottom of the pedal, so once you get behind the top it should come out easily.
