I've searched a bit, played with the software, and read the instructions but I can't see if the Durametric software can clear ignition ranges?
Is this possible? I thought I remember reading it was.

With the Durametric Software you can only read the ignition ranges....
If you have the Softronic software, and ask Scott nicely - he can supply you with a program that will clear the ignition ranges.......
I did this a little while ago as my car is coming up for it's first service - it worked perfectly.

The 6 ranges can be broken down as:
Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM
Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM
Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM
Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM
Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM
Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM
The number is the number of ignitions in each of these ranges.
The factory PIWIS tool does not display the hours for each of these ranges. The hour indicates the last operating hour that this range occured in.
The Ranges shown above are listed in the ECU Data - If you miss a Down Shift/Gear on the track you can easily get into these ranges.
The Rev Limiter on the way up is set at 7200 RPM (More if you have Softronic Programming)
Ranges 1 and 2 are not a problem for the Porsche Warranties Ranges 3 & 4 begin to raise questions................ Range 5 & 6 are considered abusive treatment so No Warranty!
PIWIS - Porsche Integrated Workshop Information System
Porsche Integrated Workshop Information System (diagnostic tester) This device is used to test various aspects of your Cayman's computer and electronic systems. These units cost over $12,000 to purchase and are connected to Porsche via a wireless connection at the dealership so that your Cayman's information can be sent to Porsche whenever your car is attached for diagnosis. The PIWIS device has the ability to control almost any system in your car provided that your car has the appropriate control units and programming installed. Your dealership may not perform some activities such as disabling safety equipment.

So did you re-install the original image with the ignition ranges reset or the modified/tuned image with the ignition ranges reset??
I have left the Softronic Tuned Software in the ECU as it is 'invisible' to the PIWIS system (Checked with Porsche Specialists PIWIS)
The Ignitions are set to zero in every register - although on the last track day I am sure I hit some over revs.............

Isn't that considered a dishonest behaviour?
Well if you consider Porsche GB's Practice of Charging 60% more for a Cayman S (Leaving Governmental taxes out of the equation) than you pay in the USA - and they only give 2 years (instead of 4 years warranty) to us in the UK.
Who is being dishonest to who?
