The IPD
plenum I bought from Dan arrived yesterday I actualy stayed up last night and put it on. The caymen site was down so visual was out. But it's a motor and I figured it out. I'ts pretty much a no brainer knowing there will be benefits after adding it onto the car. All you have to do is look at the factory tube between the mass air flow sensor and the throttle body itself. There is a vane in the tube leading to the throttle body and the way the tube in general does not keep a constant size. Probably intentional from factory as to not out perform the 911. It is a very restrictive setup. From the start the shifts make a hell of a whoof when
you shower down and drive the redline and is amplified by the desnork and BMC filter. Off the bat there was a noticable increase in acceleleration and the ECU has not even adapted to the new mod yet. We have a new bypass being built in my town it is not open does not belong to the stater or city. The contracters own it until it is paid and signed off. Until then there are a couple of spots a 3.5 mile stretch with 2 overpasses. and between hwy 3 and I-45 there is a feeder little less than a qurter mile long. Previously I have consistenly hit 118 on both sides. This morning I busted 124 Called Greg at RSS and we talked for a while on the subject. The size of the plunum is rather large and the hose is good and unastructed good quality. You can tell a lot of R&D went into this even down to the cooling vanes on the
plenum itself to reduce heat. If it will do this now and the factory ECU has not even had time to mate up to it yet and with just the Desnork and BMC so far I can't wait to flash the ECU and finally put the cat back on. The power transfer throughout the entire rpm range right up to 7300 on each shift is great. Having as many hrs behind both stick & yoke plus the driving I find it difficult to believe some of the stuff I have read on the site. It is a good performer if you live close to Johnson Space Center come by we will go hammering. Sleeper thanks for selling it to me so cheap and Greg will be sendig in the ECU soon. It does not do the 20 + hp I am sure with the ECU flashed and a good catback it would combined close to 30. But to bust 124 in less than a quarter of a mile where before every day 118 do the math it is at minimum 5hp at the wheels. And the hose as well as the
Plenum are aviation grade material and construction.
