Clutch issues

I have a Boxster S 987 with a 3.8 X51 engine and I use sachs clutch. The clutch was excellenent but now I have 10.000km and it needs replacement. When it is heated after one hour of driving the clutch slips on 4rth,5th and 6th after 4.000rpm.

Is there another performance clutch that I could use that would may last longer?
What clutch does any of you use once you have upgraded your car?

Michael

I have a 987 with X51 too and used the Sachs clutch. No problems so far with 7000 miles on it.

The exhaust system has been a headache though. Still not right.

I had headaches with the exhaust system as wells It was so badly designed that it destroyed my catalysts because of the collusion of the gases.

Now I believe I have ended up with the best solution about the exhaust :

Tubi silencers which do not communicate and take out the exhaust fumes from indepedent tubes. The silenceres are only connected with an upper tube which acts as a silencer and then the gases come out separately. This way I have less resonnace and more peak power.

With the clutch though I am a bit troubled as 10.000km (6-7.000miles) is too low mileage for a clutchs' life. OK I am driving a little loonetic cometimes, but I was driving the same loonetic when my car was OEM and with the OEM clutch I had done 30.000 miles without even thinking of changing clutch!

You might want to contact Mike or Tom at TPC. Mike had a custom lightweight flywheel made for his Turbo Cayman -- it fits the 3.4 engine, but uses a GT3 clutch and pressure plate. Mike showed it to me before it was installed, and it looked like a very nice piece. Afterwards, he told me that it works great.

Finally my delare took the gearbox out and we found out that it wasn't the clutch but the flywheel!
I have done 40.000miles on thw flywheel and now it blew up.

Has anybody used any aftermarket flywheel?
