Just got mine yesterday. It definitely pulls harder. Everone know that technically is doesn't produce more HP, but if you have 2 CS's side by side, one with and one without, I promise you that the one with will be perceived to be faster, with more HP. BTW- took 2 minutes to install.

So with 2 CS side by side, would the one with SB take off faster from the line?
To be completely honest, I wouldn't think it would change. What changes is the pedal distance, so the "enhancement" is probably a bit psychological. It does feel like the sport exhaust option, without the $2200 bill. As has been proven, the sport exhaust doesn"t add HP, but ask anyone with it, and they tell you that it feels stronger. Same idea. Hope that helps!
PSE - Porsche Sports Exhaust System
The acoustics of this dual-mode sports exhaust system are dependent on driving style, ranging from standard output during normal road driving to a more aggressive tone during performance use. Modes are selected using a button on the center console (or ‘Sport’ mode button on vehicles with optional Sport Chrono Package/Sport Chrono Package Plus).
Introduction planned for 04/2007. Some models may require additional components. For detailed information about this product, please contact your Porsche dealer.

Panda & Blue Eyes, its been about a year since you fitted your Sprintbooster. I'm thinking about one and would appreciate an update on your impressions so far. Has the 'learning ability' of the ECU nullified/dampened the effect at all?
What I cannot understand is why would someone pay $400 for faster throttle response (not faster car btw) when for $800 they could get an ECU tune that actually made their car faster AND gave faster throttle response? I mean if a psychological "gain" is worth $400, isn't a REAL gain worth $800? It would be like someone buying a blow-off valve for 1/2 the price of a turbo!
I installed the Sprint Booster today. If you have a Tip, this is a good gadget to have because it gets rid of throttle lag completely. This is a safety issue especially when overtaking. The Tip is supposed to downshift a gear when throttle is depressed, giving the car the acceleration it needs. With throttle lag, the car may not get the acceleration on time before getting hit by the car from behind. With manual car, this is obviously a moot point.

Ruffnut, it has been nearly 4 months for mine. No, there has been no counteradjustment by the ECU. It has the punchiness of day 1. At times, stepping on the gas on the first gear with a little enthusiasm tends to break wheel to ground traction. Note the PS2s have about 6K miles on them, still sticky. All I can say is that I do not have the sport chrono option and I am happy with the improvements I got from it. The key is if someone has tried it with sport chrono and if they can also see a difference. If you can try it before you buy it, then you can decide it for yourself.
Cheers.
Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.
Just fitted it yesterday ...and boy all I can say is that the car finally feels like it has 295 hp. Honestly i was pretty disappointed with lack of verve when I first got my 987S. Compared to my others rides, the lack of responsiveness was a real let down.
Yes it doesnt add any Hp...BUT it brings it all ALIVE! This car should have come with it. I think it adds the sport chrono response without the ugly clock and the exorbitant price.
To detractors I say...try it before you knock it. I have had tuned ECUs in my other cars and know what improvements can be had from those mods. This one is clearly NOT a psychological/perceived improvement in response....it is an ACTUAL and REAL improvement in response and performance because the kickdown (tip) is actuated earlier than before and it gets into useful rev range quicker.
Power without control is nothing...I would say it applies in this instance as well.

Exactly!
And if you get "double sport" action it is super responsive. Feels like a Cup car.
ever wonder why in cars with the sport button, using it actually yields quicker acceleration times without adding any increase to actual power?
Hey not an evangelist for sprint booster and truth be told I would be happier if mine were the only sprint booster 987S in town, but its just disconcerting to discover how people can diss something without actually keeping an open mind and trying it first.
