Sprint Booster

Has anyone tried this product? Buy Plug and Play Performance - Sprintbooster - Online! www.SprintBoosterSales.com
A couple of weeks go I went to Pfaff Porsche, The sales rep suggested I try the boxter S that was fitted with one of these devices. While I was skeptical, I tried it anyway. Woooow, felt like another 30-50 horses strapped on. When I got back in my CS, it felt bloody slugish. Now I am contemplating to buy one... any comments? I know it will not increase the HP but improve the throttle delay...

looks like it increases the throttle response just like the "sport" button with the chrono pack.

With regards to the stock "sport" button, some people really like it. But I personally find it too touchy.

I was told that there is another product that supercedes Sprint Booster.

Its called (get ready for this highly creative name) Power Pedal from a company called Tunekit in Germany.

Plus is that its from a German company which probably means its got to be TUV tested and gives me added confidence that it does what it claims.

The difference with this I am told is that this is variable/adjustable sensitivity vs dead settings for sprint booster.

No affiliation with them whatsoever. There seems to be a US distributor as well so good luck.

TuneKit - power of performance

Assume that your CS does not have Chrono sport ? Pls correct me if wrong. If you do have that can you describe the difference you felt betw Chrono sport mode on and the Sprint booster car you drove?

so far best mod ever (for my 2.7)

When I went to Water Fest last weekend, Johnston Research was having a free trial for this unit.
I had them installed on my 2.7 at the spot(took them less than 5 minutes to install!). After the install, I drove back and force around the parking lot and it was a night and day difference! After the test drive, the staff at Johnston Reaserch asked me if I wanted to keep it or take it off. Since they were having a Water Fest special pricing ($300), I decided to keep it.

Throttle responce definitely improved. The car pulls harder as RPM climbs up much quicker. Passing slower cars on the highway is much easier as well.
Looking at the MPG screen, I noticed my MPG went down to 23.5 from 24.
This might happened because I was having too much fun with this.

I was told by the staff at Johnston Research that this unit will not void factory warranty since it does not interfere with factory ECU and emission system.

If you are thinking about re-flashing your 2.7, I highly recommend getting this unit first!

Ummm, you guys realize that it doesn't actually increase performance (i.e. HP or torque) right? It simply is the electronic equivalent of driving with a lead foot, so it gives the impression that it's increasing performance. Most DME (ECU) re-flashes strive to actually increase HP.

It probably would have a negative effect on MPG, just like driving with a lead foot; I would think that it also makes the car harder to drive smoothly in stop & go traffic.

An-update.

Bit the bullet after being lightened up by $399, I have got a marauding beast. I am not claiming HP increase but the car has changed. Yes it uses a bit more gas but what the hell. No I did not have sport chrono. Do I feel $$$ is worth it? yes, yes, yes.

after 2 weeks of use, I sometimes think the device is gone dormant as the old smoothness is there. When I step on it realize that my righ foot had gotten accustomed to it. It is there and gives me the kick in the but response that was never there before.

Genki, I got it from Pfaff Porsche here in Toronto.

Here is their web site. 5 minutes to install. Pfaff Tuning - The Evolution of Inspired Driving
