It's hard to predict what will or won't "pass California Emissions testing" at a given smog station on a given day. However, the package is not legal in California, or anywhere else in the US, for street use. The reason is that the Cargraphics catback eliminates the 2 catalysts that are installed in the Cayman's silencer (muffler). EPA regulations prohibit this, nationwide.

Emissions-wise I'm confident that we're ok on this one, already done, tested (pre-tested I should say) but absolutely... changing out an air-intake, plenum etc... none of that is "technically" legal in California. But they never open the engine cover and dig around so...

The Cargraphic muffler is the one used for this kit but Todd has tuned for other exhausts and will continue to do so. We certainly don't want people being "forced" into buying an Exhaust if they already have one that they're happy with. Same sort of thing on the TT side (although the effects there are a lot wider). The reason the Cargraphic was chosen was that it's super-quiet and doesn't resonate as much as most of the exhausts out there. Resonance inside the Cayman is obviously a touchy subject so we want to be sure we start with a recommendation that's as quiet as can be and then go from there.

Unfortunately there is no after-market company that builds kits for Porsche that has a SMOG "cert" unlike in the Corvette, Mustang world... Not RuF, not Gemballa, TechArt, Softronic, EVO etc....

I just took my first test drive with the following mods on my 2006 Cayman S

• Evolution Motorsports V-Flow
• EVOMSit RS350 Software
• IPD Plenum
• Borla catback Exhaust
• Underdrive Pulley
• De-snork
• 93 octane

The difference is amazing! The car was fun before but now it is incredible! I am still planning on installing the IPD race plenum and GT3 throttle body as soon as I get it and I will dyno the car then. But so far it feels like a huge HP gain!

The first stage of the mods was:
- Borla catback exhaust
- IPD Plenum
- Evom V-flow
- De-snork

Drove the car for a week and definitely felt a nice improvement but now with the Under-drive Pulley and the EVOMSit Software it is a different car, it really gets the full potential from the other performance mods. The Software is actually tuned for the race Plenum which I will install as soon as RSS sends it to me! I am really happy with the way the car feels and sounds! It does feel like a beast!

Great work! thanks to Evolution, Shark Werks and RSS!
