Softronic and Durametric OBD2 Cables

Can anyone tell me if the OBD2 cables for the Softronic and Durametric software products are different. I have both the SRP with Flash and the Durametric Diagnostic software and was wondering if the cables and the Windows drivers for the cables are the same. The reason I am asking is that I initially had the Durametric software installed on one of my laptops. I then installed the Softronic software and had some problems getting the Softronic cable to work (the Durametric cable worked fine). I then used another laptop that did not have the Durametric software installed and did not have any problems with the Softronic cable. I would like to have both software programs on the same computer so I am trying to determine if I have a Computer problem, OS problem, or compatibility issue with the Softronic and Durametric software. I suspect it is computer or OS related but just wanted to see if anyone else saw anything like this.

There should be no problem with running the software on the same computer, however, if you have received separate cables for each program, that might be causing an issue. I initially had the Durametric program and cable, and when I ordered the Softronic software, I sent in my Durametric cable to Scott who exchanged it for one compatible with both programs.

I would recommend calling or emailing Scott (Softronic) for advice.

Thanks, I thought I might need to go that way but it never hurts to check first. Again thanks for the info.

Whether or not they are compatible depends on the timing of when the cables were delivered. There is an "old" version and a "new" version. The old and new cables are not compatible, and niether is the driver software. Call Duram or Scott and describe your problem - they'll sort it out.

Once you have the same version cable/driver for both packages, then you're all set. I use my Softronics cable for both.
