Capistro conflict.

Engine coolant was gone. Filled up and went back home. Let the engine run and ther were a pool on the floor. Puh - no head gasket.

On the right side of the car, the Capistro header first lambda sond is in contact with the aluminium coolant tube. After 1000km the contact has made a hole in the tube and coolant is lost.

If you got the Capristo header - take a look behind your right wheel.

This time I made a rubber tube fix of this, but I will talk to Capristo Germany to have this issue solved. I want of course a new alloy tub. Rubber that close to the exhaust flange and catalyst is not a proper way to go.

Take a look at the photos and check your own car.

All the best.

Got a warning on the display in the tachometer. Low coolant level.

if you got the header, just check the aloy tubing - you can probably bend it so it doesn´t interfear with the lambda sond. Then you will never have the problem I got.

Ummm you put on Capristo headers without the Capristo catback?? I looked under my car and those items are not touching nor close, I suspect a faulty install.

Nope - I put on the whole system, but the catback was to loud. Using a ordinary PSE with valves now.
But it could be that the system I got and the ones you have is different. I bought it directly from Capistro Germany and it is a four cat system.

Does the 4-cat system has different shape compared to the 2-cat system headers?

No idea. And faulty installation like K-man S suspected - how can you do that?

Upside down / left for right / inside out ? I think the instalation is a straightforward job where you can put nothing wrong.

This is what I got.

Wrong header on the wrong side of the engine? No what I meant was that there is some play in the exhaust and if you were all the way at one end of the play where it hit something and didn't notice you were hitting something and could have avoided hitting that something by adjusting the play to provide clearance then I'd say it was a faulty install. If, on the other hand, no matter how you adjusted the play it still hit then I would say that it could be that one of the pipes or headers isn't bent properly OR it could be that something was wrong in the way Porsche installed the coolant line on your car OR it could be that a Boxster's coolant lines (is this a 3.2 or 3.4 motor?) are a little different from a Caymans. All possibilities at this point for sure.

No but we are working on a Boxster Registry just sit tight for now. You can upload as many pics as you like in your own personal gallery in the Gallery section under member galleries though, just not into the registry.
