New Club member - some questions for you guys!

Hi Everyone,

I am a relatively new Cayman owner, but knew from the second I saw her on Top Gear this was the car for me! Inevitably the day would come when I would want to tinker with her - you forum has been an amazing resource and I have really benefitted from reading about the de snork mod.

As a Surrey (London) based owner, I am looking into a sportsexhaust, cats, heards, intake filter(the evo is expensive but looks fab, otherwise a pipercross or BMC), De snork and ECU re map as the main options. Any major operations such as new capacity or a Carrera engine are way over my budget, and generally go against the logic of buying a Cayman in the first place! If I can hit a real 320 bhp and have better throttle response and general, noise and performance that will be ample! I hope this can be done with an initial budget of max. 6,000 euros, or lets say 4,500£.

I am working with Parr motorsport and my car will be their first cayman in for re-mapping. As UK Appointed Porsche motorsports team I believe they are well placed to do a great job. Once this is underway I will report back to you all and let you know my findings. We may also look at working on new headers and cats as well, so Im sure this will be of interest to all those London owners!

Does anyone have any further feedback on the Evo and peformance gains emanating from this intake?

Cheers,

Gavin

Ps. Does anyone no what alternative steering wheels are compatible on the Cayman? The std wheel is horrid (non sports version) and Im desperate to upgrade to something that feels good! Does anyone know the parts number of the sports version? Is it expensive?

Gavin,

Good luck on the remap. Go through the sponsor / tunerssites to look for options on the other items.

The tunerscan be viewed here: http://www.caymanclub.net/topic.asp?...le=Cayman+Mods

bavarian1,

Check with Miltek about headers and exhaust, they are in the UK and will have something available for you shortly with proven HP gains.
