AHHH!!!! Another Boxster S Thread?!!

Sorry guys, but i got a question. A friend of mine was discussing the new boxster S and its familiar new engine with me. I told him about how most of the folks from the board were pretty upset about the whole idea. He seemed to see it from a different angle. If the boxster S gets the same engine as the cayman...isnt it probable that due to a higher number of cars with the engine that aftermarket offerings be greater? Isnt it possible that more tuners step up to the plate and R&D get more agressive. There are alot of boxster fans out there. When they clamor for better performance and more options wont our voice will be louder?...

I dont know...just a thought that i havent seen expressed in any of the other boxster threads...

I agree with his statement. Personnaly I do not like the boxster, and I have no problem with them getting the 3.4 engine. Porsche had to do something with the Boxter S to keep it competitive in the market.

Do I feel like their Cayman S marketing was slightly missleading? Yes, but I am a big boy, and was never really fooled. They will have todo something with the Cayman S come 2008 or 09, because it will fall behind in the specs game. Will that make the 2006 Cayman S a bad car? Not a chance. At this point the after market will sense an oportunity, and probably will fit a supercharger or something else for the 3.4, 987s engines.

There will always be something better and more powerfull in the future.

The Cayman already has a ton of aftermarket support - as did the boxster. The problem is that Porsche enhancement costs $$$$.

The boxster crowd has usually shied away from enhancing the car - while the more hardcore cayman owners want more power that they know that their cayman can handle (and frankly needs).

We have the first of our cayman powerkit owners that will be receiving their upgrades shortly and a couple of 4.1L engine upgrades in process.

If its power you're after - give us a call 888-322-7911. We offer +20, +40 Powerkits and 380 and 420HP engines.

Safe, reliable power. What many people dont understand is that porsches are relatively well tuned from the factory - so the old honda/acura rhetoric of slapping a couple stickers (+7HP)or a fart can exhuast from pep boys releasing some power will simply not happen.

You'll need to pay for that R&D - which IS expensive.

That said...a 9ff sticker IS worth 10HP!!
