It seems like every tuner out there has re-mapping the ECU as the most basic HP increase mod, to the tune of 20 hp or so. If this is so easy to do that any tuner can, why does Porsche (or any other car company for that matter) not just map the ECU like that in the first place? Is there some other down side like it won't pass smog or it kills the gas milage? Of course I would certainly expect a decrease in milage with more power. I've often wondered this but never asked anyone who knew...... Craig

Enthusiast will always prefer a more aggressive throttle, higher compression, and increased in HP from timing of ignition at peak detonation for higher octane fuel. Enthusiast will almost always use 93 vs.lower octane fuel like the general public.<o></o>[/quote]

ECU remaps aren't worth 20hp either, maybe 5-10 and usually work best in combo with a better intake and exhaust to achieve maximum gains.
