I'm considering the center piece, however not sure of the door pieces. Opinions needed, what do you guys think?

It's your car - do what you really like...

Personally - not sure why we don't see carbon fiber on lots of consumer goods - toasters, for example, or iPods, or lawnmowers (just kidding). I don't see the appeal, except where a valuable savings in weight can be achieved - like in a new Cayman S!

I love carbon as a finish on interior parts. Its def. not about weight savings just the look.

I say go fot it so long as it replaces parts and not overlays parts, overlays are ****.

I have the interior shown in the photos with theaddition of thedoor handle surroundsthat's also in carbon. These pieces are included with the carbon door package. Obviously I like the look, but it's strictly cosmetic not performance oriented. Matters of tasteare precisely.....matters of taste. Ifit's your taste it's worth it, if notdon't give it another thought. The OEM parts are not simple 'overlays' but are not solid carbon fiber either. They are expensive but substitutes arenot effective due to the compound curvatures of the surfaces. Photos are a poor substitute for seeing carbon fiber with your owneyeswhich is why I gave up trying to capture the interior in photographs. Seek out some examples in your local Porsche showroom.

Carbon is always nice, but have you thought about having those pieces painted the exterior color? I have the dash strip, gear shift trim, and instrument surround that way. It looks great,......and kinda ties the whole car together.

Combinations of Carbon and Exterior colors can work very nicely together as well... I would say that if you wanted Carbon in a Car Porsche is the right manufacturer to go with.

My exterior is Seal Grey, thus I think the carbon fiber would go well with the black interior and seal grey exterior.

I agree.......if we're talking Seal here......Carbon would be the way to go. Seal interior pieces with a black interior would probably be a little bland and a waste of money.

I'm shopping around now for a speed yellow cayman s and at first I wanted as much CF inside, then I thought about the cost and figured it was not worth it. I stopped by one of the local dealers to check out what they had in stock and after browsing a few of the cars and looking at the diffrent items some of them had in CF I have set on going with a mix. Some items done in speed yellow with a few CF parts to accent it. I like the CF door sills and gauge/dash accent when it is tied in with the Speed yellow gauges, decklid and the like.

Plus the few grand in savings was nice.. I still need to find a car on the lot with the CF steering wheel to see if I like the feel of it.

I have the CF rear center console in my Speed Yellow. Even though this was the most expensive option I ordered, I really thought the standard black interior needed something to dress it up a bit. I love the look but do not have any other interior carbon pieces. I would be concerned about CF on the door armrests because they might get scratched up from regular use. Once those pieces get scratched or cracked I don't know that there is much you can do to repair them.

Thanks! Do you have any pictures of your center console? I'll post some pics of mine since it looks like I'll go ahead with the order at this point. If I would of have blue or any other color I might of considered the painted center console. Here is a pic of a blue 911 Carrera S

The OEM carbon pieces are epoxy clear coat/impregnated and much less vulnerable than the leather, vinyl, or paintunless someone routinely exposes them to sharp objects.

skip the door arm rests: carbon fibre ist relly hard, and you will be putting your elbows on it.

the leather trim is much softer.

center console in cf is nice though, of course depending on your int. color.

P.s. 3 days to go.......
