I just took delivery of a new seal grey Cayman S last Friday and I love it. (I had modded C-5 prior) What mods would you suggest that you 'just have to do'? I am hearing that the short-shifter, spacers, and intake and exhaust mods are high on the list but I am looking from recommendations/suggestions since I am new to the Cayman S. All I have done so far is add color wheel caps, clear side markers and I deleted the emblems on the rear lid.
I second Kayman2 de-snork the car. It is free (almost), it sounds better and my but dyno says it also performs better. I also installed the Short shifter. I am considering a new air filter like K&N or the EVO induction. If I were to continue I would consider either the exhaust mod, orto chip it, probably in that order. Just my opinion and what I have done already, and thinking of doing.

My first mod were pedals from Rennline so I could drive the car properly to my style of driving.
My second mod was the Desnork. It cost me under $5 in materials and took less than 30 minutes. I also installed the EVO intake filter. The car sounds great now and my butt dyno says I picked up some power too.
Now that the intake is sorted, I'm looking at the exhaust. The Miltek looks to be the best performer but IMO its level of finish and visual quality is substandard to what I would expect to see at that price point, especially for a Porsche product. I'm looking forward to seeing one before I buy.

de-snork...then if you arent entirely satisfied with the cayman stance...and dont have PASM...dump it. (Eibach or H&R springs). bigger wheels (spacers if needed) and then short shifter.
PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

This web site does a great job of whipping you up about things you can do to your already fabulous car. Witness me as I have already de-snorked and installed the Evo air filter (both worth while IMO), and am consumed with getting a better exhaust. I don't even know what my OEM onesounds like from the outside. I've never been in traffic or standing on the side of the road when a high revving Cayman came by. Some how I feel like I need to upgrade. Other times I look at my car and ask myself, 'Why did I buy a sixty-seven thousand dollar car that I have to tinker with?' It's a hobby to be sure, but in the end it's about driving which the car does beautifully right out of the showroom. Good luck and congrats on you new ride, JohnB, You are on the correct site to find out about the latest in Cayman upgrades.

Car rips now!!!! You cant believe the difference.
BTW i am going to be posting a full article on the FABSPEED exhaust just like K-Man did on the miltek. Stay tuned......

hey guys, i plan to desnork, and put new pedals. also, silly, but will get black floormats. the terracota interior is excellent but the terracota floor mats can easely get dirty, and this way, with black floormats, it will break up the cabin color.
But i do have a stupid silly question, what is 'dyno'; i keep reading threads and the word 'dyno' shows up often.
