Mirror Removal

Has anyone removed their side mirrors?

It looks like there is a screw on the bottom. Is that all that is needed to remove the mirrors?

Any tricks or pitfalls?

I am going to replace them with Carbon Fiber ones (look nice - but may actually weigh more).

Also doing the Sportec spoiler.

Thanks in advance
