Recommendations for Tinting in Santa Monica or Hollywood

Im picking up my '07 Cayman in Atlas Gray next week. Im interested in getting my windows tinted, does anyone have suggestions as to how dark I should get them...also what is an approximate cost on this kind of thing? I have heard anywhere from $150 to 1000k.

any suggestions are greatly appreciated......thank you in advance.

I would drive the car for a couple of weeks before you decide. You may find out you do not want the windows tinted.

3M tint

Hi,
I had my CS done a couple of month ago at A1 Window Tint In Carson, CA.
I chose their 3M 35. It's perfect but a little pricey $399 for all five windows.

It looks great

JJ

$1000k? A million dollars? That better be some damn good tint!

I have heard very good things about California Tint in Rosemead, although I haven't used them before. I got mine done at Magic Car Stereo & Alarm in Signal Hill. $160 for all 5 windows, and they did an excellent job.

Remember - here in CA, the darker your windows are the higher chance you have of getting ticketed by a cop. All aftermarket tints are illegal on the front side windows and windshield. You are allowed to put as dark a tint as you want on the rear hatch and rear side windows.

That said, I've got 35% on the sides and 21% on the rear (meaning the tint film allows 35% and 21% of light to pass thru, respectively). Definitely keeps the car cooler here in sunny SoCal. Just know that it isn't kosher with the law.

You may also get some more recommendations if you ask in the Zone 8 forum.
