Driving my other vehicle I saw a silver CS enter HWY 75. I slowed down and let it pull along side me. The view was awesome! Unfortunately, as I dropped back behind it, I saw the ugliest view yet! The standard muffler had been removed and, stainless steel mufflers stuck out, so far below the body line that it doubled up as Stainless steel truck tire mud flaps. So, if you are contemplating changing your muffler system, make sure you get pictures from other installs. This way you know what to expect. PS the sound eminating from this stainless steel system was unimpressive.
Could you tell if it was a Fabspeed or Tubi exhaust? Those are the most likely candidates and both can hang down low if not properly installed. I concur you should make sure your installer knows what they are doing otherwise you could end up with something improperly installed. Did you get a license plate # or can you give a description here of the car (color, options, any other changes, etc.) so we can see if it is a member and what they have to say about their exhaust?

It was stainless steel with rectangular looking "boxes" on each side. I am not familiar with brands as you are. I did feel pitty for the guy and I thought, at the time he might be a member and he would read this and realize how bad it looked. (If he did'nt know it already)

Racerboy...thats the tubi exhaust on Snaxster's CS.
the only exhaust I am aware of with square cans for the cayman is the AWE...see attached tumbnail.
my guess is that it looked bad from the rear because of a poor install, as K-Man S noted. There is a c-shaped bracket on the inside of the US cayman bumpers that can prohibit certain exhausts from fitting up tight near the heatshield...(i think thats what it is). I have some pictures of this in an article i am working on for the SpeedART Exhaust. If you get someone who doesnt take the time to work around that bracked you may end up with a droopy exhuast.
Thanks RedRocket!
I emailed AWE last week about their exhaust and asked if they offered installation services. They are probably close enough to me to drive down early on a Sat. morning and then wait for teh car. However, I haven't heard back from them yet. My wife told me she would buy me an exhaust for Christmas, and I liked the AWE price and look.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY it could have been an AWE exhaust and been hanging down that low without it being broken from the brackets. The AWE exhaust BOLTS up to the factory brackets, there are no straps or custom brackets like on Tubi, B&B and some others. Either it is installed or it isn't, they would literally have to be hanging from the headers with no rear brackets attached to be hanging down low otherwise the bolts would never go through the factory brackets. I suspect it was another brand and the muffler cans looked "square" because they were seen edge on.
Speed Racer, yours looks great!. Red Rocket, close but no cigar. The one I saw had a bypass connector between mufflers and the Stainless Steel boxes looked slighly bigger and maybe a little more shine and of course, dropped lower.
if u just take a quick glance , the boxes that fabspeed has also looks rectangular - ish. esp from the back. and it hang very low. (i dont know why.. but it's just the way they are)
