AWE Installed :-)

Finally, with careful consideration and anguish I picked AWE’s catback exhaust over Tubi. The install was just completed days ago and here are my impressions so far:

1. WOW
2. Not too loud, not too soft (i.e. wife didn’t complain)
3. No weird noises
4. Butt Dyno says it makes power. There used to be a little hitch in acceleration between 3000 and 3500rpm. It is now gone!
5. Porsche Tech advised fitment was the best he had seen. No installation problems.
6. Tucks up perfect under bumper.
7. Much lighter than OEM (Sorry, should have weighed them)

No dyno runs
I just didn’t have time

Type 987s - Very nice. Looks like a very nice installation.

I'm considering AWE as well. I've been concerned a bit about how much louder the car will be with this system. Since I consult in Philly, I'm considering going over to the AWE facilities to see/hear the system.

Lastly, are those the AWE tips?

Congrats! Another thumbs up for AWE and as can be seen from the photo it doesn't hang down at all and as your Porsche tech said, super easy to install and great fitment.

actually there is almost no difference between the boxster S and cayman exhaust. Several exhaust mfrs. designate their cayman exhaust as being for both. not sure if they would sound the same on both the cayman and the boxster though...

If it were hanging down you'd see it below the body of the car, you don't because it is tucked up where it should be. ON the Cayman you can see it through the bumper cut-outs on teh Boxster you can't.

I think AWE is the way to go if you are worried about sound. It is not obnoxious at all. She sounds like a Porsche should sound now. Plus it passed the wife test.

You will be able to see the chrome thru the Boxster Coupe slots but thats cool.
I wish my Cayman Cab had that bumper
The AWE will suck up and not hang down below the bumper like one other exhaust I know of.

I do think the Tubi looks and sounds great. Very hard decision but I believe the Tubi to be louder from all the clips I looked at.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. We appreciate the feedback. Car looks great.

Can I ask you gents a question? Take a look at this post and tell me if I was out of line.

How would you have interpreted this comment? I did not take too kindly to it.

Mike,
You'll definitely get mine. I may just want to order the exhaust this week (while it's on sale) but not have you ship it to me unitl I figure out if we can arrange for your shop to do the install.

Ignore that fellow on Rennlist. I re-read your replies multiple times and still couldn't detect any arrogance.
