AWE - Noise restriction

Can somebody tell me what sound level is recorded from the AWE exhaust system at circa 3,500rpm at 2-3 feet? My local track has a 101db limit based on the measurement criteria above. Any advice would be sincerely appreciated since I dont want to shoot myself in the foot and be banned! I plan to get the exhaust upgrade next week...

Thanks Guys

I thought Kman quoted 109db at about 3 feet

I think that was at full throttle, not at 3500rpm.

We have a sound dB meter. We'll see if we can get a local car to come by.

I would bet heavy that it passes that noise limit. Most tracks with volume limits are targeting open exhausts like on full race cars. Our system is *much* quieter than that!

Yes my reading was at full throttle and somewhere between 3-5 feet back, I was pressing on the gas someone else holding the meter. I would think this system would pass your decibel test but good that Mike is going to run a test for you to see. If I had my own sound meter I would do this to all of the systems that I test. Hmmm xmas is coming up...

That would be fantastic if you could run a test for me. Im planning on getting the AWE fitted next Thursday at Regal Autosport in the UK who are your sole UK distributor. Curiously - what header system would you recommend?

Thanks

That is a tricky question. We have not tested any of our competitors products, and we are not sure if we are going to do our own. We are not 100% convinced they are worth doing.

More research needs to be done.

Thanks for working with Regal. They are an excellent group.

Sadly I just received a call from Regal saying that AWE are out of exhausts for 2 weeks due to the current 'offer' take up! Damn! Looks like my pre-xmas exhaust plans have gone out of the window until January....

Interestingly the cat back system is the same price here in UK pounds as in dollars in the US. In other words - its twice the price at todays exchange rate! Ouch.
