I got tired of waiting for Borla or another major exhaust vendor to do something or waiting on the PSE. All reports on AWE were excellent so ...
Ordered the exhaust on Tuesday on Sale ... thank you AWE
Received it Wednesday
Impressions ...
Idle or cruise ... quiter than OEM
With your foot on it under load ... WOOT!
Now THAT is how a sports car is supposed to sound.
On the way home ... this is how I knew the butt dyno said more HP ... definitily more HP.
I turned on the car and thought ... WTH? Its quiet. So I pulled onto the side street and up to the light. Normally, I will NEVER light up the tires. I gave it the normal amount of gas and the tires lit right up. PSM warning light flashes and you just KNEW, there were more ponies there than before. Very Cool.
I rarely drive with the radio on (XM) anymore anyway ... Now I might as well get save my money on the subscription because the sound is just too awesome. Even my wife said in following me it sounded great. She actually said she turned off the radio in the SUV, rolled down the windows, and just listened to me driving ahead of her ... how cool is that?
AWE ... Mike, John (my salesman) ...
I Thank You
My Wife Thanks you
My Dog Thanks you
Our neighbors might hate you
Thank you and Happy Holidays from my wife and I (she drives it most days around town)
And $100 off on-sale ... it don't get any better than that!
PSM - Porsche Stability Management
While it can’t overcome the laws of physics, the revolutionary Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system does lend an added degree of balance and control to the Cayman’s mid-engine driving dynamics, inspiring surefooted confidence in corners and extreme situations.
A standard feature on the Cayman and Cayman S, PSM continuously monitors steering input, road speed, yaw velocity and lateral acceleration to calculate the actual direction of travel. If the car begins to steer off line, PSM instantly intervenes with precision brake inputs on individual wheels to help bring the car back onto the driver’s intended path.
If braking alone isn’t enough to correct the vehicle’s cornering line, PSM then calls on the Cayman’s engine management system, adjusting engine output as needed to help stabilize handling. PSM can also compensate in an instant for mid-corner changes in load resulting from deceleration or braking. When Sport mode is selected with the optional Sport Chrono Package, PSM’s threshold for intervention is raised, allowing for greater driver involvement. If you prefer driving without automatic PSM assistance, the system can be set to standby at any time. In this case, it will only intervene under heavy braking, where both front wheels exceed the ABS threshold.
For all of its technical ability, PSM goes virtually unnoticed in everyday driving situations, preserving the Cayman’s natural agility.
PSE - Porsche Sports Exhaust System
The acoustics of this dual-mode sports exhaust system are dependent on driving style, ranging from standard output during normal road driving to a more aggressive tone during performance use. Modes are selected using a button on the center console (or ‘Sport’ mode button on vehicles with optional Sport Chrono Package/Sport Chrono Package Plus).
Introduction planned for 04/2007. Some models may require additional components. For detailed information about this product, please contact your Porsche dealer.

Borla
BORLA PERFORMANCE INDUSTRIES is the leader in the design and manufacture of stainless steel performance exhaust. We began two decades ago as a manufacturer of exhaust systems for such "concours classics" as Rolls-Royce and Ferrari cars and have evolved into the premier manufacturer of today’s performance vehicles for the street, off-road, and racing.
Chows assessment of the AWE is dead on. I used to catch a little vibration under 2000 rpm but with a driving style change it went away. The AWE just likes a little more RPM.
Definitely break out your checkbooks! AWE is as close to perfect as you are going to find.
I've gotta make a trip to Philly in the spring and I've already talked to AWE about installing their exhaust for me. I'll make an appointment and it'll take about 2 hours at the most. chows4us, thanks for the excellent feedback.
We get that one a lot. Do you think sending a case of beer might smooth things over? We once had to send a strip-o-gram! (and I'm not much of a dancer)

Thanks for the write up. Happy holidays from the staff. We are glad you like it.

Yeah, thats it, very tiny, not annoying at all. If it bothers me, I'll go back to tighten up whatever but its only a one frequency under heavy load in a high gear
Your right, it just don't like 2K pulling at load ... not going up the RPM range, no sound at all

sigh. No you didn't. I can't say the "exact" price because I had a third key "reprogrammed" at the same time.

Your very welcome and John has been great.
Happy Holidays to the AWE staff. Hmm, lets see. Got to save up for whatever you sell next
LOL! Ditto! I'm in for one too but am informed there will be a short delay cuz of the huge response in orders.
You are correct. I ordered mine on Wed. but received a note that I am on 'backorder status' because they are out of stock. It may work out in my favor anyway; my company is closed from Dec. 25 - Jan. 01, so as long as I get the exhaust before then, I should be able to run down to my buddy's speed shop and use his lift to do the install during the week, rather than on a Sat.
