De-Snork Blues

Attempted the de-snork this afternoon clumsily managed to break one of the pins which makes re-fitting the grille a no-no. Im assuming that these are easy to get from Porsche? I bought a great black-plastic coated mesh to cover the snorkel surround. If anyone here in Europe (UK in particular) would like a piece of the mesh please let me know and I will post it (I have enough left for around 3 de-snorks). If anyone has a spare pin to trade this would be very much appreciated!

Yes, the pins are easily obtainable from your local dealership.

I knew I saw a picture of that thing somewhere...... Looks like Swampcroc took a pic and was kind enough to share it with us.

This one has a different part number than what Rainer posted. I'm not sure which is the one you need. Does it look like this?

Edit: After looking at the desnork article by K-Man S, it's pretty obvious that this is not the part that you need. I'm thinking Rainer has the right part number.

Swampcroc, if you're reading this, what did you need this part for? Just curious.

Mine look like this. The "Mat.-Nr.:" is the international Porsche Part#. You can also see that the original (German) part name is: "Befestigungsclip" (=fastening clip).

Gatorbite - that swampcroc picture is for the pins needed to fasten the front lip spoiler to the front bumper, the image Rainer uploaded is the correct one for the fasteners for the intake grille.

K-Man S beat me to it. Sorry for the late response.

The plastic "fixing clip" inserts shown by Rainer look familiar to me, as well. Although I cannot see the end of each, if they have a Phillips head in the center, these may be available at Lowes in hardware. Worth a look see.

Lowes lip rivet example

Just thought I would submit a picture of what to look for in packaging at Lowes. Rainer's "fixing clip" is also made by Hillman if my memory serves me well.
