H&R verses Eibach spring dilemma

I currently have H&R springs On my Cayman S. I had Eibachs on my boxster and loved the ride.
This car had the H&Rs when I purchased it, the H&Rs seem pretty harsh and stiff, I don't like the ride much.
I am considering the Eibachs, I have stock 19s and have 20s on the way.
Any opinions about the ride differences between the two?

Thanks in advance!

I can't speak to the Eibachs but I had my H&R's removed after only 300 miles. fine on smooth roads but very harsh on rough roads

Did either of you have PASM with the H&R springs, or just regular gas-struts?

Thanks.

Boxster is much less rigid of a car. My 04 Boxster S with H&R coil overs rode nicer, smoother, and softer than my Cayman S stock (no PASM). But at the track the CS will be so killer I bet! Can't wait......

ps- CS will be getting H&R coil overs very soon- write up to follow

No, I don't have PASM.
Does anyone have Eibach springs on their Cayman?

Apart from sheer aesthetics (the wheel well gap is rather large on the stock springs) I cannot think of messing with the stock suspension on the Cayman S. It is dialed in near perfect IMHO...unless you are only using it for the track that is.

i did. I liked them. the ride was more rigid, especially with the 20's but I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between the two brands. Probably not enough to be worth the switch though, i would imagine.

Try the 996 Boxster springs. they are much softer.

I have H&R's on my Boxster with PASM, and they are great. I have owned many cars that have been lowered with either Eibach's, or H&R's. To be completely honest everytime i have lowered a car with Eibach's the car tends to feel bouncy, and i don't think I would personally use them again. I have lowered a Acura Legend, Miata, MR2 Spyder, WRX, Jeep Grand Cherokee (yeah I know, it's a Jeep, but it looked good and handled great) 350Z, SLK350, 986, and 987 Boxster, so i have had a little experience. I would not hesitate to go with H&R's on any vehichle, but probably not Eibach's anymore. Everyone has their own preference.

I would not buy any springs without at minimum knowing and comparing the spring rates. Alternatively, extended ride in a car that has been modified in the same way will give you a good idea.

I am miffed at H&R for not sharing their specs... it is like Porsche not willing to publish HP numbers... silly!
