Video: Cayman wins rally sanremo

Cayman S GT wins its class in Rally Sanremo (07) by 31.5 seconds. Camera view is partially blocked so you can't see much into the distance but from what you can see it looks like he was going crazy fast on a very narrow road.

Hey guys,

I editted your posts and embedded those videos. It's just easier to in my opinion when you can watch the videos in the thread. If you want to master video embedding, check out Club Tutorial - YouTube and Google Videos.

Man, that guys is working that Cayman. I had to stop watching it because I was getting car sick. The camera is too high. You can't see any horizon.

I showed my wife to prove that I'm not the worse driver she's ever seen.

I don't think its Spanish, sounds Italian, either Napolitean or Sicilian dialect. But then again I'm not a linguist.

I am the driver...

Hello all,

I was having a look at the feedback of my videos on youtube and saw that you where so kind to link my camera cars. Great!

Did not know of the existance of this Club, have just registered and, if I can, will be happy to answer all questions.

I think I have a bit to say on this car, but we are still working on it, since regulations from the Italian Championship are quite strict.

So, here I am at you disposal!!

San Remo Driver

Thank you for identifying yourself... You are amazing!

Whenever I drive in the mountains, and especially if there is any sort of cliff involved, my wife says I drive like an old woman; so, obviously you are an inspiration to me. =)

We lived in Berlin during the late eighties and we have many happy memories of driving trips to Italy.

Well, I am driving the Italian 'GT' Rally Championship.

This is the first season, after more that 15 years, that GT cars have been re-admitted to professional road racing.
Stated this, the rules are new and quite strict:
- you can only use road-legal (dot tires)
- you con only bring minor modifications to the engine (management, exhaust, flywheel)
- also limited in the drivetrain (only the shorter final gear ratio and clutch)

To give you an idea, I just switched to this series and used a track-ready Cayman S, directly from the Italian Cayman Cup. Infact, at the Sanremo, I had factory final ratio, factory engine and management and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires.
You should have seen how pissed off the other guys where, already competing in this series from march, with full spec Caymans, 911-997 GT3RS's and Prodrive Aston Martins!!

Let's say that we took some risks, but managed not to commit mistakes and still won by a distance. For AutoOrlando's pleasure!!

All the same, what you want on that car is a PSS9 without PASM setup with specific springs and shock settings. Bigger anti-sway bars will allow you to save 5 or 10kgs on the spring tension, in order to avoid bouncing off the road.
