I was at the Imagine Auto Spring Fling car show Saturday and entered my Cayman (money goes to charity) didn't win anything, evidently they needed inside the car and my car was locked so they gave me a big fat zero for the interior category... oh well... was lot's of fun, almost 200 cars there, old and new, foreign and domestic, even some kit cars. Weather was great, took a lot of pics which I will try to get uploaded into my gallery tomorrow. Here is one of my car for now... I had time to get it cleaned up thanks to my cousin stopping by and giving me a BIG hand.
That was a something-GTM I forget the exact name now, I'll have to see if I can look it up. It uses a tube frame, carbon and aluminum chasis and corvette running gear. Lots of HP, very little weight.
I should probably bite my tongue, but this year the voting was not done by the participants but rather by a group of judges from a local car group. Interestingly members of their group won awards whereas non-members typically did not. I looked over my scoring sheet and had an 8 out of 10 for paint. This was after the entire car was buffed with a UDM and Gloss-IT to a very high shine, I don't think my paint looked as good new as it did for the car show. My interior score was a ZERO, yes my car that won "best interior" at Croctoberfest got a big fat zero, why because the car was locked, judges never asked me to open it, nor was there anything on the entry list details that said that cars must be unlocked for judging. I wasn't really looking for an award, the money went to charity for entering and that's what was important, but the judging of cars was far from being well done so if you ask what won, I don't really know, there were certain cars that attracted a lot of attention but didn't win anything. Hopefully the charity won by people participating in the event.
I think they should just give everyone one of those little metal plaques for participating next year if they are going to hand out anything at all. If you do fan voting then someone brings a large family/friends and stuffs the ballot box, if you do judges voting then you need to have unbiased judges who judge consistently ala a concours and have rules associated with that. I'm sure they are still learning how to make this event successful for everyone, and for the most part they did a very good job and I certainly don't mean to be critical of the event, just that one aspect of it was kind of comical in my opinion.

Next time keep buffing until the yellow is completely gone, and you'll probably score higher.
