As a different way to approach the Cayman Club calendar I thought I would offer a suggestion.

First I have NO issue with the process now, I just thought I would bring this up purely for tossing around.

Instead of submitting photos for consideration, why not set up a new thread once a month, where ANYONE can submit ONE PHOTO for x number of days....say 10 days. On the eleventh day, a poll will start with all entrants listed. The voting can start on day 11 and run through the end of that particular month.

At the end of voting, the highest number of votes for any given photo, equals a winning entry into the Cayman Club calendar (as a featured large photo). One winner per car, per year. Anyone who submits but does not win can re-submit next month.

We can always submit other images after the main twelve are selected, just so the designers can use them as filler or to finish layout.

I understand there are quality issues with minimum required resolution, no photoshopping/altered images..etc. So not sure how you would police this UNLESS, the winner was required to submit the photo within x number of days of the poll closing, and failure of any terms (submitting by the deadline, editing, resolution) defaults to the next highest vote getter.....

Make sense?

Just thought it might be fun, and make the process more interactive between members.....

I like the idea; the previous month winner's photo should be displayed on the home page and maybe even available in a resolution high enough to use as a computer desktop

It might be difficult to implement the voting system though.

I think the recent photo's of Ed's car are a sure in for next years calender. That is if the rights to the photos are released for such use.

Great idea! This sounds like it could be a lot of fun... all year long.

If this is successful, we can take it one step further and have themes for each month.

It is just a poll set up after all entrants are in.....why is that difficult? If there is a limit to the number of options a poll allows using the current forum software, then perhaps we find the threshold, and limit each months submittal to exactly that number of eligible entrants....first come first serve. Entry closes and poll opens as soon as the maximum number have posted a photo.

Seems simple to me.

Good idea.

I'm ok with people submitting photos for a monthly website contest where we then feature the winning photo on the website the next month, BUT I am so swamped that I don't have the time to orchestrate, coordinate, tally votes, etc. this endeavor, if someone else if volunteering to do that, please let me know.
