Just had a new set installed. Here's a picture with the thermal wrap. Incidentally, even without cats each Cargraphic header weighs 3.8kg, 0.1 more than stock.
What are you going to do to prevent the check engine light that you will get for cat warmup efficiency?

Titanic,
I stop wrapping my headers after ruining two sets of headers (different cars, one with SS headers), the thermal wrap works and looks good but also trap moisture between the wrapping and the headers itself.
After removing both sets "litteraly in pieces" I vowed never to use it again, hey but that's just me...

SOFTRONIC produces DME programming and hardware to suit your companies specifications. Our current software suite is a complex matched set of programs housed in a Flash Manager and Flash Client. This software is matched with two cables, an End User and Master Cable. The SOFTRONIC proprietary flashing solution outperforms all other combinations in speed and accuracy including the factory Porsche equipment.

Thanks for the heads-up. It's a design issue, one of the bend gets real close to the water line for engine cooling. As a precaution, my mechanic suggested that I should thermal wrap the headers. Would it help if I change the thermal wrap from time to time?
from what he's saying i would guess just unwrap them and rewrap them in the event that you drive in the rain or get the wraps wet just so the water doesn't settle in there

The wrap is breathable so I presume water moisture can evaporate through it. Besides, without cats, I would expect the exhaust gas temp to be a lot lower.

Titanic,
The wrapping insulates the exhaust header keeping the inside of the tube hotter (and more efficient), therefore helping to cool the engine compartment
The last set of headers I wrapped, I sprayed with ceramic coating. I forget the brand but it was just a spraycan and worked very well to seal the wrap from absorbing water.
Can you tell us about the fit and how the installation went and your impression of performance gains from the addition of the headers.
Fit: essentially bolt-on so no issue at all. Thermal insulation recommended as the bend gets too close to the water line.
Performance: definitely a plus (bigger diameter, equal length, no cats) but I am not yet maximizing it since I still have the parachute at the back (stock). But wait until my AWE arrives, then HaHaHa!!!
P.S. Using G-Timer on the same stretch of road, this mod knocked 0.3 sec off 1/4 ET and added 1.0 mph to trap speed.
but why does it destroy the header as you hav epreviously said??
After wrapping the headers you are supposed to spray a sealant (a type of glue) and I believe that this will seal the tape that traps moisture.
Please note that both ruined set of headers were installed on daily drivers, therefore they had plenty of chances to dry and remove moisture. It was pretty disapointing to see them crumbling on your hands (literally).
However, on my last set of headers (3-4 years ago) I decided to go with Ceramic Coating (Jet Coat..?) and I am very happy with the results, even almost four years later.
