First run of the day. When the title fades away turn up your speakers. This was a bullet cam suction mounted behind the wheel well. I am surprised by the sound it captured. It is 5 minutes that will either bore you to tears or not. LOL.
I lined up in front of the Porsche run group and got a lot of empty track...later I caught slower traffic...then...of course...was passed by my brother at the end. I am at WOT and he walks by. I told him that he will get a point-by but no lifts from me.
They had a new rule about turn 1. You had to stay inside the line that extends from the wall and leave an entry corridor from the hot pit. It was different at first, but not much of a sacrifice for safety.

That is a pretty cool view, and it came out well - I tried something similar with a cheapo MPEG helmet cam mounted to the outside door handle (didn't want to trust a suction cup), and it didn't come out nearly that good.
I love the way you get that optical illusion when the wheel looks like it stops spinning or then spins backwards.
Ultimately, to create the most interesting video, I think you have to blend several different views (e.g. cockpit, rear, front bumper or side view like yours), even if they are from different sessions or days, into one video. At least, that's my goal.
Thanks for sharing!

That is the plan. Unfortunately I screwed up and forgot to delete old files on the CF card. I intended to record a session with a reverse shot from the roof, and interior shots to edit a movie. A couple of technical glitches...the suction cups don't like glass as well as the car surface itself. so exterior mounts are more secure than interior.
Next time out I am going to capture 5 different angles and edit them together.

Letting a turbo by, for shame! I like the armor all on the tires and the wheels spinning forwards and backwards, I can never get mine to go backwards on the track... Two things I'd say about the actual driving: 1) Stay on the power more, you are a bit abrupt on and off and on the power, smoother will be faster and 2) You can use the rumble strip if need be, that's what's it there for to be afraid to use the entire track and then some!
Looks like fun and can't wait to see the stitched together video. I wish someone had a multi-camera HD setup, I'd be all over that and put some cool footage together...
If I had time that is...

Looks like fun. Too bad I couldn't be out there this last weekend!

Excellent advice.
I intentionally drove a "narrower" line on Saturday...leaving track out space I would normally eat up. At the same time I pushed the car harder. Leaving all of that space unused took me to 2:17 or slower... from my 2:14 personal best.
I am a wussy. There I said it. Leaving more margin for error gave me the comfort I needed to get the car sliding more. The way every quick driver I have been with pushes their car.
Now I will try to use the whole track again...maintaining the same level of aggression... with a higher comfort level because I know better where my car's limits exist. If I can get closer to 2:12 with my bone stock set up and continue to have fun, I will be satisfied. baby steps.
My brother is getting to the point where more folks are admonishing him to cage-up.
