A dealer would be out of his mind to not move a car sitting in his inventory considering he'd still be making a considerable amount of profit at the price you'd like to pay. Unless the 60k you want to pay is out the door... then I could see them having a bit of an issue. Try talking to the Internet Sales Manager.

I was thinking that 10 percent off MSRP was decent for an 08.
8-10% off on a 2008 is definitely possible, especially if you were to pay cash.
Why is that? If the dealer can arrange financing (either through Porsche finance or another semi-captive) the dealer can make money on the financing as well.

I agree 100% with Da Hapa. I paid cash for my Cayman S and my dealer tried to negotiate that I finance some portion of it for at least 90 days so they could make some money on the back end. I declined their offer and they still sold me the car at the negotiated discount.

Still trying to find the replacement for my 2.7 that is going away in October. There is a 2008 with an MSRP of $66,770 on the lot.
I would like to pay $60k.
Am I crazy?
Any word on discounts off MSRP on 2008 cars that are on the lot?
I wouldnt sell a 2007 for that.
BTW. I am not sure why people assume paying cash is any different than financing or leasing. Our prices do not change a cent. Dealerships actually make more money on financing/leasing.

That is an awesome deal, do you have a long standing relationship with the dealer? Have you bought a lot of cars from them?
Why should a dealer say no to this? I mean they are making easy money guaranteed. I never understood why dealers won't go lower on orders than they will on cars on the lot. Seems counter intuitive.
