Is this normal

Ordered CS 2/4/08 was told of 4/17/08 bulid date, expect early May delivery. Carly Simon's Anticipation playing over and over...dying. Now informed of 6/6/08 build date, Julyish delivery. I know Porsche does things at there own pace but this bump back normal?

Probably the only downside to ordering exactly what you want...

................the wait.

What's couple more months....

Been waiting 20 years.....no violins thanks, I did read previous threads regarding delays, just that mine seemed little longer so I was wondering if there was anything reason out there for the delay. My brain unfortunately has been pushed back as well to live with it, got no choice, and yes, getting what you wish for sometimes takes longer but I KNOW it'll be worth it.

That's a pretty major bump back; did they have any explanations?

For example, I ordered in January and my car was built last week.

What you cite sounds more like the dealership screwed up or played some shenanigans and had to reenter your order pushing you to the back of the pack.

With out saying as much......

BILLK

Ya I think thats what happened personally, or.....a preffered customer who already has a Porsche squeezed them for a quiker date, hope that's not the case, kinda why I asked in the first place cuz I thought it was longer than other delays. I trust people, hopefully they explain with reason, or better yet, trade for a earlier date with nother dealer would be cool.

I ordered a CS on 2 Feb 08 and was given a build date of 23 Apr. I guess that I better check and see if that is still the case. Man, If I got bumped I will really be pissed. It is bad enough to pay $500-600 to the dealer so that I don' go to the back of the line when I get service.

Not sure previous owners get preferred treatment; I ordered my second new Porsche from the same dealer and still had a long wait time. I ordered it in Jan 07 with an April 07 delivery date. The new car finally arrived in June 07, lost a couple of months driving time and then found out a few months later that PCNA reduced the MSRP by 10% on Canadian cars. Some days you just can’t win.

Should have got it....

PolarPorsche

The MRSP went down 10% while waiting and they didn't budge for you? I know a contract is a contract but the prices up here, if thats where you got it are thru the roof even now. I would have had a hard time with that one personally, the way I read your reply looks like they didn't bend at all?

Don't mean to speak for PolarPorsche, but the Canadian price decrease was announced in Aug 2007 timeframe and it was still hard to get clear understanding what new equipment was now standard (heated seats, auto-dim mirrors, auto-climate) in October when I put down deposit. So, that would be after delivery but annoying anyway. In fact my order invoice still shows those included options with their prices but then there is the MA option for market adjustment that credits their sum. So, that part of price decrease could be easily reversed.

I am in similar situation, where I have been told April build date so I am going to drop by dealer when I am in Halifax tomorrow to see if anything has changed for me.

Did you have any special options. When I ordered, the dealer told me he had specific production slots that he could order a car. He gave me the soonest slot he had. My guess is either you got bumped for another customer, or some special option was not available and you had to be moved back. Some options, like custom paint, don't fit in the standard production flow.

Special Leather

CharlesN

I think just Carrera Leather interior would be the only thing considered special in my configuration, other options are PPKG+ 19" wheels, head crest in seats, think thats it.....
