I was going to wait until June to order it, though with the end of the month coming up and 07's going fast I decided to go ahead and apply for the loan. The bank said ok, which I had no doubt, so now its just a matter of picking out one I want and or ordering it.
Liqdfire, my bank said okay also, I am waiting to see what the new rates will be. What rate were you quoted? I have 5.99% before the fed drop rates yesterday.

My credit is a little lower than a 700, I had a huge train wreck on my credit a few years ago and I am still working on getting recovered from that.
My bank is Bank of the West. They are local to me, but a national in scope. Headquarters is in Walnut Creek, California, but I am in Waterloo, Nebraska. I have gotten about .5% lower quotes from dealers.

Tom,
Nice that you got that rate. I wonder if the rates will drop into the 4's again? Seems like many Porsche dealers are part of larger auto sales "families", do you know if the finance rates are "negotiable" with dealers?
It's worth getting pre-qual'd before shopping, negotiate your MSRP without financing in the equation and then see if the dealer wants the financing business. We were surprised to find the dealer gave us another .5% off our pre-qual'd rate just to win the financing business.
I found much the same when I bought my wife's G6. The dealer beat the bank financing rate by .5% just to get the financing business. I have always gone in with pre-arranged financing or cash when I bought a car.
