Rattling

My first post - I've been lurking and soaking up the details and now I'm in purchase mode

I just test drove an 07 CS with less than 3k on it and there was a fair amount of rattling (sounded like plastic) coming from the rear trunk area and also a higher pitch buzzing coming from the headliner when at speed. Is this normal on a car with such low miles or are there common problems with the Cayman like this?

If it has the cover in the hatch attached to the lid to hide whats in the hatch it's that thing that is rattling. I removed mine, problem solved. No idea on the buzz in the head. Perhaps the C Car was just happy ot get a test driver and caught a buzz!

You will love the car..!!!

That is an affirmative on the black screen that hides items in the rear storage area. I finally figured out that was what was causing my rattle. The car is MUCH better now! Enjoy!

The buzz in the headliner is loose clips. I had the buzz directly over my head and when you applied pressure to the line it would stop. Also had the same problem right in the middle of the liner between the seats towards the back. Again loose clips. On colder days it is worse.

I solved my rattling problem with the cover attached to the lid by placing small sticky felt pads on the shelf where the platic knobs from the cover were hitting...

Thanks for all the advice - sounds like a common problem that is easily rectified.

I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the purchase and I'll be picking my new ride up on Tuesday.
