Porsche Car Configurator Down

For the last couple of days, the car configurator has been going haywire displaying errors and turning German all of the sudden. Now it wont even start. Has anyone been having the same problem? Let me know, im interested in speccing out my car soon!

Pcc

It's been fouled up for a few weeks now. Giving Java errors, and suddenly changing parts of the page into German or French. Not a local PC issue (tested on 3 different machines, re-installed newest Java etc.) I've had a new CS spec'd out on the site for about a month and it is always hit-or-miss whether I can correctly retrieve the saved config.

Maybe they're doing updates for MY 09?? We can only dream!

P C C up and running

Looks like the web-heads have fixed all the javascript errors. The Porsche Car Configurator is back up, although make sure if you are using the Google Toolbar you have all the Porsche web sites set to allow Pop-ups.

Bad news - absolutely no changes made to specs, options or pricing, at least for the Caymans. Did not check out the 911's.

The car manufacturers don't really understand the importance of their car configurators it seems. The Porsche one has had repeated troubles over the years. mercedes was down for several days recently. Hummer's didn't work for about 9 months. Even Toyotas breaks regularly. They don't get it and don't realize that they are angering potential customers.

Not only does the configurator online not always work, it still doesn't include all options in the actual order sheet used by the dealer. There is no option online for deviated stitching, for example.

I agree, and I think they need to do a better job with the options, like when you choose certain items like the aero kit, it ACTUALLY SHOWS IT

Packages vanished

Sometime between last Friday and today, the Preferred Packages have been removed from the PCC. Not just for the Cayman builds, but also 911 models.

Based on other threads, I assume that is because build-to-orders are closed out for 2008 AND they have to re-work all the packages for the new standard features and MY upgrades. I hope...

P C C being updated!

Finally, Porsche AG has taken the PCC (Porsche Car Configurator) down to update. Maybe they will finally put in the new 911 configurations and options AND add the Cayman S Sport and Design Edition 2nd.

Guess they have time while the factories are idled for the European August peregrinations.
