Gone...gone...gone

Gone but not forgotten

Well, yesterday my Cayman S left with its new owner.
I have been thinking about this for a while, and finally decided that what I really wanted was a convertible.
I had my Cayman for two years and enjoyed it more than any other car I have ever owned, but at the end of the day, I want an open top car.
I will wait until the 2010 models come out, and make my choice. I may go with a Boxster, or Carrera cabriolet, but there are some exciting cars on the horizon and it will be a fun winter checking them all out.
This board has been an amazing place to find information, meet people and demonstrate our mutual love of Porsche cars. I have never been involved with a more knowledgeable group of people who were also generous with their information.
Thank you all for the support you have provided to one of the less knowledgeable among you

Get a Boxster. It offers nearly all of the best things about the Cayman, plus the virtues of an open top.

Good luck with your selection. Looking forward to see what you end up in.

+1, but I might suggest waiting for the new goodies of the facelift

What a nice post! Good luck to you.

For whatever it's worth, I'm in an '05 Boxster S and have been lusting after a Cayman S since they were born. Although finances were intially the obstacle, now it's a question of buy now or order new, so I still don't have one. And I think the reason I've not been in such a fire style hurry is because my Boxster S is a pleasure to own and drive. I get so many compliments it's embarrassing.

Hope you have a blast finding your convertible.

I too belong to the latter category - I had a 2003 Boxster S and when Porsche introduced it knew I had to get a CS because it was the car I really wanted.

I never wanted a convertible but nothing else handled the way the Boxster did.

My only regrets now is at least a Boxster had a trunk, so now I get to listen to all the plastic pieces in my hatch rattle over every little bump, the same as on my old Audi TT.
