Has anyone purchased a Cayman on the east cost (Maine to South Carolina) within the last six months? If so, I would be interested to know what sort of deal you got, name of dealer, and whether the car was ordered or purchased from stock. I am currently in the market and trying to determine at what price to pull the trigger. The options I'm considering place the car in the low to mid $70s range. Thanks for any input.

wow, $5094 below invoice? was there a trade involved?
I just took delivery of a Cayman with Tip, preferred package, metallic paint and auto air. The sticker was $56,390 and I paid $50,751 at Inskip Porsche, Warwick, RI. They made the buying experience very comfortable.
Hi everyone: I am new to this forum and would greatly appreciate it if you guys could provide me the your insight. I bought a '99 Boxster a month ago which has turned out to be a disaster. The water pump blew, and I thought had been repaired but the other day the coolant level light started flashing intermittenly. Took it to the dealer yesterday and came across an '07 Cayman S with 600 miles that is being offered for $15,000 below the $66,000 MSRP. I am contemplating on trading in both the Boxster and my '05 350Z (the latter which I love but at the end of the day it is still a Nissan). Any thought you could give me on the price of the Cayman and whether this would be a wise move would be a great help.

I just got my Cayman S little over a week ago and for a little while I was looking at a few 07 Cayman S as well. Talk to few ppl about it and they said that if you are going to price out a 07 CS just go to one of the auto websites like Edmunds.com or something and put in all the specks of the car and for the mileage but it maybe 12k or 15k and see the price you would get. The car has 600 miles on it ok but at the end of the day it’s a 07 and 09s will be out soon. So if the price you get is close 51k then I guess the dealer price is good, if not tell them the number Edmunds give you and that’s pretty much your final offer. If the dealer really wants to make the deal they’ll get close to your price.
As for me My CS has MSRP of 67110 including shipping
When I priced it out, the cost to the dealer was around 58500, I made the deal at even 60.
Here are the specs on my car

If you can purschased the vehicle for a price of 48K - 50K I think you would be looking at a great deal provided the vehicle is still in prestine condition. Given the time of year and our current economy dealers are more inclined to more these cars
Hi everyone Im new to this forum but not new to driving Porsche. Im currently racing a boxster in "E" class and was interested in getting a cayman and maybe one day turning that into a club racer as well, but for the moment I'd use it as a weekend driver. Anyone seen any decent deals on a Cayman "S" what kind of price do you think I can get for a low option 07/08 - I've seen herb chambers in MA selling a new 07 cayman S with a few options for 56K... I wouldn't mind a higher mileage car for less money as I'd like to keep the money in my racing budget... Anyone seen any decent deals or if your a dealer feel free to PM me. Im based in New Jersey.
NormHouston is right. A car like that has to be a demo. When people are test driving a Porsche, you can bet they rev the heck out to the red-line every time out. Not a good thing to do on s true sports car that has not been properly broken in yet. Even if you are not planning on keeping the car very long, I still would not get a demo car.
Had a dealer today offer me an October build slot for $1200 over invoice for a CS. Spec'd a cs with sport chronos, PASM, sport seats, etc. Came out to around 65k. Any thoughts?
PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.
