Warranty card Punched-CPO?

I found a '08 CS with the warranty card punched-new on a dealer lot. There is 6 months gone on the factory warranty and the dealer has discounted the car to reflect this.

Leaving aside the issue as to whether an untitled new car should be missing 6 months warranty, I asked for the feasibility of getting a CPO warranty, which extends the warranty out to 6 years (5 1/2 really) and 100k miles.

I was given the price of $1650 to add the CPO warranty.

I am told that if the car is sold to a private party, the CPO warranty transfers with the car. If sold or traded to a dealer, the CPO warranty does not- it expires.

Is the CPO coverage the same as the 4 year factory warranty, just extended?

Is it worth $1650?

No it is not, it is a Limited Warranty and not and extension of the full factory.

The original warranty will run for the first four years from the 'Punched Date and then the CPO will run an additional 2 years in your case.
