Is This a Good Deal: Part 2

Well, my first attempt at a CS got away from me. See this

2008 Cayman S - Good Deal

I found another one this weekend. Here are the specs on this one.

2007 CS - 4,8XX miles - Former dealer loaner car. Never titled. Warranty punched on 1/1/07

Options:

M6Z - Floor Mats Interior Color
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
342 - Heated Front Seats
P12 - Self-Dim Mirrors & Rain Sensor
XLF - Sport Exhaust System
PPA - Preferred Package
403 - 19" Carrera S Wheel
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest

Sticker was $66.290 and they are asking $54.900.

I spent >3 hours at the dealer trying to get them to budge on the $54.9k and they kept saying that they were in the car for $58k (their cost) so they were "paying me $3k to buy it from them"!

In any event - I am not sure how they figure they can get $55k for a >1 year old dealer loaner car that is already 18 months out of warranty.

I left asking them to consider my offer of $49K which I still think may be too high.

Thoughts?

I just bought a similiar optioned 08 that retailed for $66.........I paid $58 with 10 miles on the car. I figure a car that is an 07, with that much mileage, and the warranty already punched should be discounted more. FYI. A local dealer offered me $49 for a brand new 07 that was on there lot with no options. I would either walk away, or wait a couple more months if you can when they begin to take orders for the 09's. When there 09 allocations are threatened as a result of the dealers not selling there current inventory.......they might be a little more motivated.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Jeff

Are you a bankruptcy lawyer? Just thought to ask given your name.

Close...I do workouts and turnarounds, but on the financial side.

I wouldn't buy demo cars, they are usually trashed by other test driver, over rev etc.

I am selling mine 07 CS if you are looking for Meteor Grey/black, with full carbon interior and other options.

Mine was a similar deal.

2007 CS as new with about 900 Miles
Preferred Package (inclues self dimming, Bose, heated seats, Carpets)
Sport Chrono Package
19" Carrera S Wheels
Bi-xenon
Colored Wheel Crests

$52K. It took a little bit, but I finally got it.
I'm in S. FL
