i would be surprise if any dealer would sell at invoice or even $500 over. seems unrealistic to me.perhaps nickbees at porscheland will offer his comments on the subject.
Don't know about your area, but while I was shopping around a few weeks ago several Los Angeles area dealers were willing to discount $6000+ off MSRP. The '06 CS w/ options I eventually leased was $65000 MSRP, but the dealer decreased the cap cost to $59000.
Danbury Porsche in CT and Inskip in RI are both moving '06 cars at $500 over. Go online to 'porschedealer.com' and identfy the car you want, then call and make the offer. You'll be surprised!

That is great, but by looking at their inventory, it doesn't look very appealing.
Bottom line, $ 500 over invoice for the remaining '06s is a great deal, if you can find the color, and most of the options you are looking for....
Yeah stick to your guns on any cars still on the lot...why would you buy an 06 now unless its heavily discounted? I waited till they came around and got a 69K car for 60K a few weeks ago. Early adoption is a whole different story but we are well past that point now, decide what you think an 06 is worth and go for it.
before I purchased mine I asked 4 other dealers how much they would beat my best offer for, including the highly competitive socal/la market. The best deal turned out to be a $64k msrp for $56k.
If you're in the market for a new car, imho, the only way to shop is via the internet. Ask a couple local dealers for their best price through email. Then use those baselines to ask other dealers (maybe a state over) to beat it, send that beaten number back to your local dealer, see if they will. Then print the correspondence and go in and say I want this one at this price I was quoted.
Had I not done that, i would have gotten a bad price, especially because 'i want it right now' was probably written all over my face.
A point to consider when buying a Porsche is that if there is a gray area on a future warranty (or out of warranty)issue, how it is handled may depend on how hard your dealer presses Porsche on your behalf. From my experience, at least in the US, Porsche is more responsive to dealer requests for customer 'good will' than mostmanufacturers.Perhaps it's because they've got the bottom line to support it.
Regardless, if you are considered a 'good' customer, things can be made to happen, like a new engine out of warranty which my dealer just got for a customer or a free loaner for a month when a Cayman order was delayed. Sometimes the initial purchase is the start or the continuationof a relationship & not the end.
