I'm looking for any input on dealerships in the Chicago area that members have had especially good (or especially bad) experiences with. I've seen from apsinkus's December posts that it appears there is room to negotiate on price, which is encouraging. (Dealer inventory searches also show some 2006models still on lots, which if accurate, is also encouraging.)

Anyway, you can PM me with any thoughts if it violates board etiquette to post about them. Also, if you could let me know the deal you were able to swing, that would also be great. Thanks.

I'll give a second vouch for the Porsche exchange. Faris there is a good guy and easy to work with. You might also ask (or move) this question in the regional forums to get some more local feedback.

On heckler's advice, I visited the Porsche Exchange today and came away very impressed. I also dealt with Francis, who did a nice job of answering my endless questions and communicating his own enthusiasm for the cars. A nice operation, and I'd recommend any Chicagoans looking for a dealership to visit to check it out.

So my advice didn't count??? I recommended them first! I believe that was Faris that you spoke to (who I usually speak with) did you mention that we made the recommendation?

I have my 2007 Black Basalt CS on order with the Porsche Exchange for Feb. production and a March delivery. I also purchased an 05 Cayenne from this dealership.

I have had an outstanding experience with both the sales dept. and the service dept. Glad to see they are part of the Cayman Club extended family.

I emphasized heckler because he'd actually been there Kman.

And yes I did mention this site; twice.

The Exchange is coming on as a sponsor? That is great. They are by far one of the best dealerships. Faris is a stand up guy. He will take excellent care of you.

I'm glad to hear you were impressed as well. There were a couple of dealerships that were closer to me, but I didn't like them or the salespeople there as much as the Porsche Exchange. Which is why I ordered my car with them.

On another note I'm not sure how Faris would feel about being called Francis. Hearing you call him Francis makes me think of the movie "Stripes." "Any of you guys call me Francis, and I'll kill you." Faris seems much, much more laid back and would probably find it funny.

UW Grad, Ballyhoo, and all the others in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, I think with we're due for a meet come Spring.

Ken, you need to work on getting us a discount on service, parts, or something with Porsche Exchange now that they're a sponsor. And I will be sure to mention that I frequent this site as well.

Though for all I know there could be a Francis at the Exchange, and though he might be great too, you're correct that that's not who I met with. I meant Faris. My mistake.
