Observation with an OEM Short Shifter/Regular -notchiness/Stifness when downshifting

I test drove the OEM Short Shifter and it felt much better compared to regular shifter due to short throws and more precise engagement- a very worthy option

This is what I found: When coming to a light or to a slow turn and
requiring the driver to slow down , tip cars can be downshifted from 3 rd
to second easily ( engine braking ) by clicking once but on the 6 speed
, there is some resistance to the downshift( with regular and ss kit )
even when the engine speed is permissable for the second gear downshift

All it takes is little bit more force to move the shifter from 3rd to
second or from second to first when approaching a very slow turn or a
Stop light/sign

Is this stifness/notchiness supposed to be a synchro feature to
indicate you are downshifting to a very low gear ?

I don't think so - I don't seem to have any extra stiffness in my SS downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, but then I have 20k miles on the car now. Although, I don't remember feeling that when it was new, either. This feeling might also depend on whatever you're used to driving.

Anyway, I don't think it's something that's been put there to signal anything, I think you're driving very new gearboxes, with new springs and new cables.

when down shifting i always rev match to ensure a smooth shift hence no additional force is needed.

Before the car warms up, the CS's SS is stiff on shifts between 1st and 2nd (and back to first). 13K miles - driven daily.
