I have not been able to get under the car yet to look it over, but am curious about doing own oil changes on the car. Not having any experience doing them on a Porsche, is it as easy to do as I find on my Tundra, etc.??? Is there anything special about doing them on a dry sump system?? Is the filter readily accessible??
I’ve been sweating this to. The car is to low to slide under and there is only one jacking point at each corner. How are we supposed to get the car up on 2 or 4 stands if the jack occupies the only point where we can place a stand. Ramps are the alternative but since they can lift only one end we have to hope that the drain plug is at the extreme front or rear of the engine in order for all the oil to drain out. Maybe Boxters have the same engine drain configuration and an answer can be found on a Boxter forum.
I used to do this with my G-35C because it was pretty low: Jack upa corner (rear corner in this case) enough to reach the plug and filter. Remove the drain plug and filter with a drain pan under of course. Then lower the car so it drainsfully from a level position (drain pan must be of thelow profile kind). Once it's drained, jack car up again to install the plug back and replace the filter. Lower the car and fill with oil. As far as safety, I would suggest you strategically put something under the car in the remote case the jack fails.
I also like the way they painted that truck green and just painted right over the license plate. No policeman is going to be able to read that license now!
Hey, that's safe. Notice that he has the rear wheel blocked ...

Here's what I want to know. How do you get the big pair of channel locks on that filter?
