first, i was told that the capacity is different with and without the oil filter. i explained that i was aware of that and the 7.75 liter value that is identified in the manual is with the oil filter.

then they indicated that the values in the manual were "approximations". i responded by saying i would understand if 8.5 quarts instead of 8.2 quarts were filled. however, putting in 10 quarts when the manual indicates 8.2 quarts (7.75 liters) is more than what i believe a reasonable person would consider an "approximation".

they then explained that the technicians at the dealers are "highly trained by porsche" and that i shouldn't worry about the amount of oil that those technicians put in my car.
Man, I would not have let them off. I'd call back and get through to the technical people and instist on it. Go above the pay-grade of the folks answering the phones. The dealer is just flat ripping people off... I'm betting you are not the first, and won't be the last. Maybe YOU could be the one to "pull the plug" (nice one, eh?) on there money spinner!

Keep at 'em!
