Oil Level Indicator
Hi All,

Just hit the 1350 mile mark on my CS. My wife and I took the car on a short road trip (about 580 miles round trip) this weekend to Horsham PA. I checked the oil last night and the level read at one bar down. My understanding is each segment is equal to .4 liter, or 13.5 oz. Because I am a conservative person I added 8 oz. of 0W-40 Mobil One and checked the level. I found the level was now perfect, boy am I glad I did not add more oil than 8 oz. Anyone else have this experience, are the increments always this misleading? I am interested in others experiences with the oil level diagram. Thanks in advance !!

2007, 2.7,, 6660 miles..Oil level bar is one or two bars down from day to day week to week. Most of the time it is one bar down. Checked evey (EVERY!) morning as I fasten my seatbelt, on level ground in my garage.
However! we just got back from a weeks vacation and oil level is on the top bar, full. I have not added any oil since day one.
I want a dipstick!!
Several threads on this subject. I have decided to not worry till I get the same reading for 5 days in a row.

I've had the same experience, it fluctuates between full and 1 bar down, until it consistently posts down 1-2 bars I won't be adding any oil.

The Cayman has an oil level indicator. It just doesn't allow you to check it while the car is running. Oh yeah, neither does a dipstick

I have (4700 miles 19months) of driving, same-thing full to one bar low, have not changed the oil yet.
