What the PASM damper stiffness with engine off?

Just something that I was thinking, what is the damper/PASM stifness with the engine off? I reckon just like power steering the active damping only works with engine on? Is the damper stiffness similar to a non-PASM car then?

I heard somewhere (can't remember) that the shocks fail into the "stiff" setting. Don't know if it's be the same when the car is off. K-Man, do you have better info or is it documented somewhere?

You are correct that if there is a PASM failure the system defaults to Sport, which makes sense from a safety perspective.

So, with engine off it should be the same, sport mode? K-Man is the non-sport mode official info or just a guess?

Why don't you just go and push on a corner of your car with the engine off and then with the engine on with PASM in Normal & then Sport and post which settings match.

I'd do it, but I don't care enough to spend the time.

Good idea, just make sure you wont be surprised if the powersteering doesnt work

I would like to offer a minor correction. Current flow is needed to open the valves and soften the ride. So when the key is off and there is no current flow to the dampers, they revert to the full stiff setting.
