Clicking from rear ...

I have been hearing a faint clicking noise from the rear of the car ... It happens when you drive away from standing still or coming to a stop ... Also it doesn't happen every time.

it almost reminds me of when my CV boots were bad on my old Acura.

At first, I thought it was the joint of the axle clicking together when it is engaging .. but then again, the car only has about 2k miles on it.

Any thoughts guys?

I had the click problem before but only during cold start. It turned out to be something loose with the oil filter cap. Apparently very easy to fix according to the mechanic once you know where to look.

did you ever solve the problem

Did you solve the noise problem? I have a knocking sound that sounds like a lifter.

Been thinking about this. Going to Scottsdale next Sunday and thought that I would call the dealer and if still concerned take in for the oil change and inspection. I do a lot of high speed, long distant driving and hear it in 3-4 gear. It may be a normal sound and your sitting on the engine but think I will go for a ride with the service person just to make sure. All other systems appear normal. My mother had a beautiful Karman Gia (excuse the spelling) back in '65 and it sounded similar.

My concern is a clicking at idle after 40 or 50 miles. It sounds like a lifter problem. However, I remember a thread that had somerthing to do with the oil filter attachment ring ,,or?? Sorry about vague description.. Due for service in 19days.

Yes I read the same thread. I will go to the archives and see if I can locate it. Believe it was under Cayman Complaints. I believe it was a mal-function of a valve. Wasn't closing properly? Don't laugh, your talking to a grandmother here! But the sound is sure like what we called lifters back in the old days.
