for all 4 rotors and pads, very reasonable. check out suncoast (a sponsor of this forum) for the prices, pads and rotors all round would cost about US$600 without installation.

I have no comment about cost of labor in the USA, but US$200 to replace all 4 is reasonable by my standard.

I have replaced the pads on my Boxster and it is a very easy DIY. You probably don't need rotors but you can measure them to make sure.

Actually, I think that price is a little high if they don't replace the rotors. I have usually done my own brakes and if the rotors were generally in good shape I would simply replace the pads for less than $150 in most cases. I always took it easy for the first 100 miles or so while they seated and never had a problem.

A set of front and rear rotors from Suncoast is roughly $480. Front and rear pads are around $215. It should take less than two hours to do the whole job. This doesn't include flushing the brake fluid.

Well this is your first post so welcome, but I noticed you don't have your Cayman entered into the registry so I don't know what year it is or how many miles it has so I cannot make an educated guess as to the state your brakes "should" be in and thus what the service may or may not entail. If they replaced rotors and pads for that price that's good, pads only, I'd say sounds high plus you can do it yourself for much much much less. Whether or not you need new rotor can be determined by a micrometer to see how much steel is left. I should probably get new rotors but I find thinner ones weigh less and are easier to make glow red... With a little more info we may be able to give you better advice, again, welcome to the site...

I have 20,000 miles on my 2006 Cayman with about 40 track days. Although I have gone through many sets of pads (Pagid yellows seem to last longer than the rest), I still have my original rotors. The rotots look like the rings of Saturn, but there is still plenty of steel left, so be sure you really need new rotors. As many have said, changing pads is quite easy to do yourself.
