alignment specs?

Does anyone have the stock alignment specs?
F camber:

R camber:
R Toe:
Caster:

Does any have recommendations for H&R lowered car? For street use. Thanks.

Application is for spirited hard street use... limited, or zero, track use. I am a racer - GrandAm, WorldChallenge, PCA, but, the Cayman is now my everday driver.

That is why the name sounded familiar! I spent all of 2000 and most of 2001 with a ALMS GT3RSR team. Then a stint in Grand Am with another RSR team in 2002. Fun times! I only race at the club level (lack of funds for pro..ha ha)


Here is what we are going with in the 987 Boxsters. There is no reason why this wont work in the CaymanS


Front: camber = -1.00 Caster = max Toe = o.oo


Rear: camber = -1.25 Toe = .15 on each side with a total of .30


This setup will keep the tires from wearing quickly, but works well with the stock tires.


You *should* be able to get the -1.00 in the front with the H&R's

I set it up with max camber at the front, which got to 1.17 deg. Caster is near 8, toe 0. Rear, I maxed out the camber to 1.7 deg. and toe of +0.15. I am not concerned about tire wear with that little camber; however, at high-speed breaking rear end gets a little twitchy. Net time, I will go for 0 toe in the rear as well.

FT, what is causing the rear end to get twitchy under braking?

My thought, too much toe-in. However, I haven't had to chance to test different settings to see if that is the really the culprit.


Also it should be noted that the twitcheness I am experiencing happens when you come on the brakes hard above 100-110 mph. Things are quite stable below those speeds.

I thought that toe-in should tend to avoid twitchiness, at the expense of poor turn-in.

I've had a few twitchy moments under hard braking too, but so far put them down to incorrect tyre pressure or uneven surface causing uneven initial braking. I need to get a bit more scientific about it next time...
